Will Easter candy destroy your diet?

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail! What the Easter bunny can do to your weight and health will shock you!??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
He wants to bust your diet! And he can!

Easter with its candy and special holiday dishes can send a diet off track fast and furiously. Once it’s gone off track it’s not easy to get back on track.???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The reason that it’s easy to fall off a diet is because diets are no way to live. They are restrictive and rarely (never?) satisfy the dieter. Well, there is satisfaction when diets cause weight loss since, after all, that’s what they’re supposed to do. Diets, don’t however, provide the satisfaction of eating satiety and that’s what makes them temporary.

This year when the Easter bunny hops into your life with all the chocolate eggs, and gumdrops and peeps you can try to resist or you can make a plan to enjoy some of those treats.

When Easter dinner rolls around you can zap your frozen diet entree or make a plan to enjoy the ham, deviled eggs, and potatoes au gratin that the rest of the family is eating.???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

And when Easter is over, you can feel out of control and keep eating like you have been starving on a deserted island or you can continue to eat and move in a way that will give you the long-lasting change in your weight you want.

Stop! No more dieting right now! No more guilt! It’s time to change what you weigh.

It’s time to change how you eat and move. It’s time to take back the pleasure you deserve from the food that you eat. Changing your weight shouldn’t be a punishment. It must be a way to honor yourself and your body with self-care. It’s not running away from the foods you love; it’s creating a balanced way of eating that satisfies you on every level – nourishment, flavor, and variety.

Don’t fear the bunny. Stop the negative self-talk. Be your own weight loss coach and prepare yourself for the challenges that lie ahead of you. Instead of dwelling on the numerous ways you may get tempted and carried away with too many Easter treats, plan your strategy for enjoying the holiday and feeling successful by engaging your flexible restraint skills.

Happy Easter! Now, eat good food and have fun moving!
