When I look at the top searches that lead people to my blog, bananas and belly fat are usually in the number 1 or 2 most frequently searched spot.
That means that the Internet has done a very good job planting suspicion and doubt into the minds of people who either already want to get rid of their fat belly, or are trying to avoid developing a fat belly.
Searching for the connection between fat and bananas is frustrating.
The top hits do not yield any information until you commit, with your credit card. You might be able to get information for free, but not without fighting off a lot of pop-up ads. Many of them are created very cleverly so that when you think you’re closing the ad your click is actually opening up a whole new page. While you’re searching you’re leaving your cookies all over the Internet and possibly opening up your computer to a variety of trojans and viruses.
Bananas can make you fat or thin.
It all depends on how many you eat, what else you’re eating, and how physically active you happen to be. There are 120 calories (roughly) in a banana, so if you snack on them all day you can add quite a few calories to your overall intake.
Bananas, however are rather dense and filling and unlike many of varieties of fruit they don’t have a lot of water. You’ve never eaten a juicy banana, but juicy peaches, apples, oranges, grapes and plums are common! Bananas may make you feel fuller and stay feeling full longer than any of the juicy fruits. They may also keep you feeling full longer than a lot of processed snack foods with similar calories per serving.
My opinion is a banana is a good choice for a snack for people watching their weight.
A banana is a good snack. It’s part of this woman’s weight loss food plan.
I think bananas have more value and power as a weight-friendly food.
As far as the hype that says bananas give you a fat belly, I am absolutely certain that you can never, ever eat another banana and still get fat and/or stay fat.
The most important thing to get out of the “banana fat warnings” is that the Internet can be a unreliable source of weight management advice and also potentially very expensive.
I lost weight following the Weight Watchers food plan and attending Weight Watchers meetings. It wasn’t free, but rarely does one get a good education for free.
I’ve no doubt that readers of my blog think that anytime I endorse Weight Watchers meetings it’s completely self-serving. The only way I can convince anybody that I endorse Weight Watchers meetings because I believe that they’re the best way to make lasting adjustments in eating and exercising behaviors is when people check out the meeting and program for themselves.
Consider this an invitation to visit any Weight Watchers meeting in the state of Maine absolutely free, with no strings attached. Experience a private weigh-in, the meeting, and the orientation. The orientation follows the meeting and is expressly designed to introduce new members to the program and to get them off to a great start. I will ensure that you’re lent a complete set of materials so that you can decide – without pressure – if the program is for you. If you join, you can keep the materials. If you choose not to join, there’s no pressure or obligation, but you will be asked to return all the materials.
It’s up to you. If you love bananas, you should eat them without fear of weight gain and a fat belly!
